Announcement of the Inauguration of Quantum Materials and Next-Generation Computing Review (QMNGCR) —Forging a New Paradigm in Quantum Research through the Integration of Materials, Physics, and Devices

2026-01-06

With deep commitment to scientific frontiers, we are pleased to announce the official launch of the Quantum Materials and Next-Generation Computing Review (QMNGCR). This journal is dedicated to becoming an authoritative scholarly platform at the intersection of quantum materials science and next-generation computing technologies. It focuses on publishing high-level review, commentary, and perspective articles that offer forward-looking vision, profound insight, and systematic synthesis, aiming to outline and advance the future trajectory of the field.

Journal Positioning and Mission:
In an era of rapid advancement in quantum computing, neuromorphic computing, and other post-Moore emerging computing paradigms, materials have become the cornerstone for breaking performance bottlenecks and enabling device integration. QMNGCR is established to systematically build an academic dialogue bridging fundamental material research and functional device realization, addressing the knowledge gap between quantum material physics, materials engineering, device physics, and computing architectures. We are concerned not only with the intrinsic properties of materials but also with their behavior in real device environments, stability, scalability, and system integration challenges.

Core coverage includes, but is not limited to:

  • Frontiers in Quantum Materials: Design, controllable synthesis, and precise characterization of topological materials, two-dimensional materials, superconducting materials, molecular quantum materials, and more.

  • Material–Device Interface Science: Materials engineering for various qubit platforms such as superconducting, photonic, spin, and trapped ions; material origins and control of interfaces, defects, noise, and decoherence.

  • Heterogeneous Integration and Micro‑/Nanofabrication: Advanced heterogeneous integration technologies, cryo‑compatible processes, and high‑precision micro‑/nanofabrication methods for quantum chips.

  • Computation‑ and Simulation‑Driven Innovation: Breakthroughs in multiscale computational simulations for understanding quantum material properties, predicting device performance, and guiding experiments; applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning in quantum material discovery and optimization.

  • Technology Roadmaps and Strategic Perspectives: Authoritative reviews and forward‑looking analyses of development pathways for quantum hardware, fault‑tolerant computing, application‑specific quantum processors, and hybrid computing systems.

Invitation to Co‑build the Academic Community:
We cordially invite distinguished scholars worldwide who have made outstanding contributions in quantum materials, condensed matter physics, quantum devices, computing science, and related fields to join our International Editorial Board or serve as Guest Editors. As an editorial member, you will help define the journal’s development direction, plan thematic issues, safeguard academic quality, and collectively shape the scholarly discourse of this emerging interdisciplinary domain.

We look forward to your expertise and strong support. Interested candidates are invited to send a curriculum vitae, a summary of key academic contributions, and preliminary thoughts on journal development to: editorial-qmngcr@csrp-pub.com.

Let us work together to explore the macroscopic future of next‑generation computing from within the microscopic world of materials.
