Launch of Progress in Environmental Chemistry and Introduction of Editorial Leadership

We are delighted to formally launch Progress in Environmental Chemistry (PEC), a new peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary research at the intersection of environmental chemistry, pollution control, and sustainable development. As we embark on this journey, we are honored to introduce our distinguished editorial team, with Prof. Abdeltif Amrane and Prof. Imran Ali leading as Founding Editor-in-Chiefs.

Editor-in-Chief: Prof. Abdeltif Amrane
Prof. Amrane currently works at the University of Rennes. He does research in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Bioengineering. Research thematics: The removal of recalcitrant organic pollutants in Air and Wastewater. Editor-in-Chief: Prof. Imran Ali 
Prof. Ali, a highly Cited Scholar with 03 (yearly) and 08 (whole career) Global ranks in Analytical Chemistry as per the Stanford University, USA (2% scientists). He is a world-recognized academician and researcher at the Department of Chemistry, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India. He is a recipient of many awards, including the recently announced the prestigious International Obada Prize-2025.

Prof. Ali is known globally due to his great contribution in water treatment, separation science and green energy hydrogen production.

As Editor-in-Chiefs, Prof. Amrane and Prof. Ali will oversee PEC’s mission to publish high-impact studies that address global environmental challenges, from climate change mitigation to pollutant degradation.

PEC’s editorial board comprises leading scholars from institutions worldwide. The board members will play a critical role in shaping PEC’s editorial direction, conducting rigorous peer reviews, and promoting cutting-edge research. Their collective expertise spans environmental biogeochemistry, green chemistry, and environmental policy, ensuring the journal’s broad relevance to both academia and industry.
